An Ode to Cliche Day
(In another life)
It was a dark and stormy night. So I decided to start with a clean slate, beginning this morning.
Now, I have always been considered to be a bit of a loose cannon, and that’s been a tough row to hoe. But, I had an ace in the hole, and I now know that life cannot be all fun and games. What goes around comes around. In Spades.
Believe me, friend, I am not just yanking your chain. I am seventy plus years young and you only live once. So, upon arising this cloudy dreary Sunday as rain tgreatens, I turned over a new leaf.
I decided to think outside the box, and in this day and age, and my no longer being three sheets to the wind, I thought, there is no time like the present to give it the old college try.
I have not had a cliche day in many years. My long suffering wife and I used to find it amusing to speak only in cliche during a day. I say, there is no accounting for taste, and it takes two to tango. Do you know what I mean?
So, without further ado and with your thoughts and prayers as my guide, I will take the plunge, and sit here nearly as naked as a jaybird, save for my jammie bottoms and t-shirt and listen to the sounds of rain falling on a tin roof and reminisce in my head about those good old days, when life was a barrel of fun.
